The Return of Autumn

Autumn is the perfect time to step into nature. Abandon the homework after school and on the weekend and for a few short hours step into the beauty to explore the changing world. Soon the leaves will all be golden, the air crisp and before the season passes us by too quickly, let’s all make sure we take a few moments to enjoy it.
When you scroll down you’ll find breathtaking footage of Yosemite National Park in autumn. While many of us may not have a national park at our finger tips, sometimes the trees in our own yard can inspire us to slow down and move with the pace of the season, rather than the carpool schedule. Perhaps it is time to begin raking leaves or to set out a pumpkin, hang a wreath or dry flowers.

My daughter loves to collect acorns this time of year and often fills her pockets with them after school. She feeds them to the fairies and collects them in baskets and jars. I have taken to leaving a bowl in the middle of the table for her to place them in when she comes home. I find them to be a lovely fall decoration.
However you seek to commune with the season is a unique expression, but the seasons, the years and the days with our children pass quickly. Before we know it another one will be gone. How will your family be enjoying the fall, making memories together and experiencing the beauty of nature this autumn?
